IVP

HISTORY: Renal calculus, follow-up left ureteral stent.

Initial scout film of the abdomen was obtained. Comparison and correlation to previous films dated 01-04-02 was made, Correlation to the IVP study dated 12-17-01 was made.

Following administration of contrast a slightly delayed pyelogram is observed on the left side. The kidneys are unchanged when compared to the previous examination with marked hydronephrosis. A previously noted multiple small faceted stones projecting over the lower pole or region of the extrarenal pelvis shows no significant change. The patient's stent is still within the renal pelvis and bladder. However it has slid out several centimeters. Overall, I see little significant change in the degree of left hydronephrosis. The stent is presumably, although slid out somewhat, should still be draining adequately. The right kidney is reniform in appearance. A extrarenal pelvis of the right kidney is observed. The right ureter is normal in appearance. The bladder distends well. Limited views are observed. There is moderate post void residual.

Impression

Left double-J ureteral stent catheter is observed in satisfactory position. It has slipped down approximately 5 cm when compared to an examination of 01-04-02. There are persistent multiple faceted stones in the extrarenal pelvis on the left side. No change of the right kidney.
